Feb 27th-March 1st

Monday:  We went to art and colored fish pictures.  We also went to music today and we played musical instruments to the lion song.  In math we learned about 3-dimensional shapes.  Our new sight word is have and our new star letter is Bb.  Mrs. Keethler visited and told us about the author/illustrator Marc Brown.  Today we read 2 nonfiction books about bears and filled out a KWL chart.    

Tuesday:  We went to the computer lab and did a technology assessment.  We went to music and played the instruments.  In math we measured time with a timer as we walked and tiptoed across the classroom.  We read a nonfiction book about butterflies and filled out the KWL chart.    We also talked about respect and how to show respect at school and home. 

Wednesday:  We had P.E. and played a tag game with balls.  We read a book called Switch On, Switch Off and learned that magnets are important because they help create electricity.  Today we went to art and practiced making lines.  In math we practiced taking a survey and making a graph with our data.  We also read another Marc Brown book.  We read a nonfiction book about bees and completed a web to share the information we learned.

Thursday:  We read Buzz Bumble to the Rescue and answered a question.  Today we had gym and played with the fitness dice.  We also read the Marc Brown book D.W. Flips.  We did our lowercase letter b handwriting.  We made a bird puzzle.  In math today we each did our own survey and made a graph of the data.  Look for our writing about respect in the display case by the office next week.
