Monday: Today we went to music and watched part of a video and listened for pitched instruments. Our new popcorn words are yes and no. Our new star letter is Xx. In math we used symbols to represent movement patterns. We are practicing the 5 reading strategies this week. We also went to art and worked on our Matreska doll faces. Today we wrote in our journal about what we did over spring break.
Tuesday: We went to music and Mrs. Burke read a story called Jump Frog, Jump and we sang a song. In math we practiced dividing a whole in half and read a book about halves. We read The Mixed-Up Chameleon and wrote about how we would mix ourselves up. For science we read a story about seasons and how they change and then wrote about spring. We also practiced using the reading strategy of finding chunks in long words to figure them out.Wednesday: In math we played a game with money. We went to P.E. and played Dash for Cash. Today we went to art and colored a picture of Matreska dolls. Today we read a bear book and practiced the reading strategy of skip and read on. We also practiced the reading strategy with the book In a Sub. We read I Like Myself and made a project for the bulletin board. We also answered questions with our new popcorn words (yes, no).
Thursday: We went to P.E. and played the Fitness Dice. Today we got to go to the book fair and made our wish list. In math we practiced writing tally marks and are starting a class collection of pop tabs. We wrote Xx words in our word books. We read Mr. Mac’s Family Circus Extravaganza and practiced the 5 reading strategies. All About Me: We learned about Chloe
